Welcome to the Summer of the Single American 1056 Yeast Packet!? My intention is to use a single yeast packet for almost of my beer brewing this summer.? How?? Easy, just reuse the yeast cakes from previous batches and replicate new batches from small samples of the existing batches.?

The first batch is easy, I?just used the yeast pack to make a 1/2 gallon starter with the magnetic stir plate. The second batch wi

ll use the yeast cake from the first batch.? This also helps keep you brewing on a regular basis - you brew and transfer your beer on the same day.?

The idea behind Spring APA is to create a nice friendly pale ale for easy drinking at parties and events.? Subdued hops (compared to an IPA)?and a little malt to make everyone happy.? I used a couple of caramel malts on this batch because I have had them around for over a year.? They need to get used up and go away.?
